Arthrosis

The term ARTHROSIS formed from the words of Greek origin “arthro”, which means joint and “osi”, which means degeneration, indicates a degenerative disease of the joints.

The joints are responsible for connecting or “articulating” the bones between them. the Cartilage. The first allows immune control against external agents and produces substances necessary for the nutrition and sliding of the articular surfaces. The cartilage that covers and protects the joint bones serves above all to bear the load exerted on the joints during movement.

The most significant lesions of osteoarthritis are found at the level of the cartilage, so the major consequences of this disease have a relationship with the main functions of this tissue.

The main symptoms of this disease are mechanical and related to movement. Arthrosis can be defined as a chronic developing joint disease characterized by degenerative and productive lesions affecting the articular cartilage. Arthritic joint degeneration always has a conservative approach with rehabilitation and anti-inflammatory drug therapy in order to recover from the symptom and biomechanics of movement. When the degenerations are in the initial phase we have therapies available that can recover on the symptom (anti-inflammatory therapy, rehabilitation, infiltration with ACP growth factors, infiltration with Hyaluronic Acid).
